We are pleased to announce our first event: PRESS ON: Discovering the Resources Needed to Take your Startup to the Next Level Our esteemed Guest Speakers include Elizabeth Scallon of Comotion Labs, Jim Brisimitzis of Microsoft, and Rob Fiddick of the Washington State Department of Commerce. The discussion will be moderated by Ben Weagraff of Saffron Key and the MITEF of the Northwest.

Elizabeth's work with CoMotion focuses on delivering the tools and connections that UW researchers and students need to accelerate the impact of their innovations. CoMotion is the collaborative hub for expanding the societal impact of the UW community.
Prior to joining the UW CoMotion team in 2013, Elizabeth was the Senior Operations Manager for VLST Corporation, a biotech firm in Seattle researching novel approaches to autoimmune diseases. She was previously the Lab Manager and Research Associate at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Elizabeth received her Global Executive MBA from Georgetown University and ESADE, Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Seattle University.
With a dozen years at Microsoft under his belt, Jim currently leads Microsoft's startup relations across the US. Microsoft for Startups has become the central engagement point for startups into Microsoft for technical enablement, business development, and access to valuable resources. 1,600 Startups have been engaged since Jim took charge of the program. This past August, Jim joined the advisory board for Baarb, an artificial intelligence company dedicated to transforming online travel booking.
In his role as International Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Commerce, Rob works with Washington State based software and telecom companies. He assists them with growing export sales and implementing their international business development strategies. In this connected world, startups have the opportunity to find and sell to their ideal customer segments more effectively than ever. Rob significantly propels their ability to do so.
Ben Weagraff is the founder of a digital marketing agency called Saffron Key. Saffron Key provides digital marketing as a service for small and medium sized businesses and non-profits. He is also the chairman of the MITEF of the Northwest’s Marketing Committee.
